Cassidy Brown: Bio

About Me

I am a high school teacher with more than a decade of experience teaching all levels of science, math, and the occasional humanities course. My  favorite courses to teach are AP Chemistry and the History of Science for the unique challenges they present to high schoolers and the creative freedom they allow me in designing curriculum.

My two passions as a teacher are finding ways to make hard concepts accessible to reluctant learners and incorporating lessons about diversity, equity, and inclusion into the science and math classroom. You can learn more about my overall teaching philosophy here

Although I love the classroom, I am ready for new career challenges. With experience as a department chair and a dean of students (responsible for student discipline), I am looking for a role outside the classroom where I can use my knowledge, skills, and experience to effect positive change in other fields.

When I'm not working, I enjoy lifting weights, getting dirty in the garden, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. My ultimate bucket list item is to visit all the national parks and do a handstand in every single one. So far I'm about a third of the way to my goal!

If you have questions or would like to get in touch, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
